SEMARANG OLD TOWN

Old Town Semarang (Semarang Oude Stad) is one of big city in Central Java. Old town with many Dutch colonial vibe around. 

It is located at Tanjung Mas, North Semarang, Central Java. To go there you need to walk around 5 minutes from Semarang-Tawang Station. Another way is walk 12 minutes from Trans Semarang-Udinus's bus stop.

Many interesting spots there such as : root house (rumah akar), gereja blenduk, Srigunting park and many others. You can enjoy this architecture for free, take pictures as many as possible from this area for 24 hours. There is also places for pray, toiletries and trash can near this area so you still can have fun without forget your sanity and sanitary.

Most of people just walk in the crowd for fun but if you feel tired you can try bike rental from Monod Diephuis, Blenduk church, Berok Bridge, Empu Tantular Bridge, until Letjen Suprapto Street. It cost from Rp.20.000 for 30 minutes. There are also Klithikan market to buy some souvenirs and many collectibles items likes coins and stamps.

Cacaban Reservoir : the first large reservoir after independence

Cacaban Reservoir is reservoir with functions like reservoirs in general, storing water, preventing flooding, etc. Now become an alternative place for traveling. One of the things that makes this reservoir popular with visitors is the affordable ticket prices and beautiful scenery around it. 

Cacaban reservoir from Cacaban river located at Penujah, Kedung Banteng, Kabupaten Tegal Jawa Tengah. Built from 19 May 1959 Cacaban reservoir become one of the most favourite tourist spot to enjoy savanna hill scenery and beautiful nature beside Guci and Purwahamba Indah. Open everyday from 06:00-20:00 entrance cost up to Rp.5000/ person. Some of the activities besides taking picture of the beautiful scenery is road race, fishing arena and warung apung (floating stall). There are camping ground spots that are recommended for you to enjoy with friends and loved ones while on holiday. Or else sail around the reservoir using a motorboat for only Rp.15.000 (1$) .

Along the food courts or stalls that are still in the Cacaban reservoir complex, there are many seller selling lontong or rice pecel. Another signature food from Cacaban reservoir is chili shrimp paste and various kinds of processed river fish such as grilled gourami. Another practical facilities that you'll find such as mushola for pray and public toilet.
